The Scottish Government is aiming to create a Zero Waste Scotland. As a result the City of Edinburgh and Midlothian Councils have joined together to set up a zero waste project. Together the councils have purchased a site in the Millerhill area on which a waste treatment facility could be built.
They plan to apply for planning permission first. A first step in this application, and initial consultation (as noted previously in this blog), has been completed; further public consultation is now under way.
Public meetings will be held at Danderhall Community Centre on Th 30 Sep from 5:30pm till 8pm and on Sa 2 Oct from 12pm to 3pm. Further information is available at the zerowaste web pages.
If you wish to respond please contact zerowaste@edinburgh.gov.uk by 27 October 2010.
This blog is where you will find community council information, including meeting times, minutes and agenda. Do please comment on postings.
