INVITATION

EDINBURGH PARTNERSHIP ‘IN CONFERENCE’ WITH STOP CLIMATE CHAOS

CLIMATE CHANGE

Wednesday 6th June 2007 at Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh

Registration and buffet lunch from 12.00 noon, for a prompt 1.00 pm start.

The conference is due to end at 4.25 pm

WHAT ACTIONS SHOULD EDINBURGH BE TAKING TO ADDRESS CLIMATE CHANGE?

Our climate is changing. How we respond to Climate Change will determine the shape of our city’s future – our economy, our environment, and the health and well-being of our local communities. The issue is no longer about whether Climate Change is happening, but about what practical actions we should take.

This conference is organised jointly by the Edinburgh Partnership and Stop Climate Chaos. It provides an excellent opportunity for partners, together with local community groups and representatives, to learn about the steps that can be taken to prepare for Climate Change, both locally and globally, and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The programme includes scene setting within the Edinburgh context, question and answer sessions, and discussion groups on a range of issues.

The culmination of the conference will be the identification of key collaborative Climate Change actions and the signing of a Statement of Intent by the Edinburgh Partnership.

To take part in this important event, please return your registration form to Clare Duchart, clare.duchart@edinburgh.gov.uk by Monday 21st May 2007.

Pre conference material will be forwarded with confirmation of places on Monday 28 May 2007.
